I think I’ve been trying to jam things in like I’m on a short trip – running here and running there. But on a trip of this length I think I had better slow down, at least some days… This is a learning experience in so may ways, especially in ways I hadn’t anticipated. I am looking forward to what tomorrow brings.
I’ve made it to England! I’ve even made it to Cornwall, and sorted my train tickets, my mobile phone and cash (I left Canada with no British Pounds in my pocket, didn’t think that they would be handy on the plane – and don’t get me started on the plane! I think that’s a story for another day). Anyhow… I had meant to start taking day photos – a photo of me wherever I happen to be holding a sign of the day of my journey. I’m not doing so well so far as I’ve just remembered and Day 2 is already over (Day 1 was the journey here, and like I said, I’ll save that story for another day). So today I do not have any ‘day photos’ but I did have a wonderful first full day on my trip!
It’s so hard to believe that it has been 55 days since the Closing Ceremonies of the Paralympic Winter Games of Vancouver 2010. From the days when I was known more often as 2010vanfan than as Andrea. But here we are. And, for the first time in a while, all us folks in Vancouver had a “Vancouver 2010″ event to celebrate. Today was the public opening of the Vancouver Athlete’s Village. And it was quite the party!
It must have been a rough flying day. When we arrived the waitress told us that we were the first ones in for pie that day (it was already after 4pm!). So not many people were flying.
GREY WHALE IN FALSE CREEK
Just some photos I took while sitting in a single place on Granville Island today. I was amazed at how many different textures and activities I could capture without moving. I’ve called this #1 as I would like to do this again in other places. Let me know what you think.
